Carole specializes in supporting youth and adults with ADHD, ASD, and/or anxiety and depression to cultivate a life that works best for their brain and brings success, while moving away from the systems that don’t work, are unhelpful, or keep them “stuck”. Carole also has a long work history of supporting youth and adults with chronic mental health challenges such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. She aims to provide clients with a supportive, compassionate, validating, and non-judgmental space that facilitates healing and fulfillment. Through her work in universities and public schools, Carole has sustained well over two decades of experience working with adolescents and their parents, individual adults, and neurodivergent clients of all ages. She is a passionate neurodiversity-affirming and inclusion practitioner.
After working with family dynamics for two decades, Carole recently completed Level 1 and 2 Couple Therapy training through the Gottman’s Institute to work specifically with couples. She also has a keen interest in working with clients dealing with bullying and harassment at work, toxic professional environment and life changes. When it comes to modalities, Carole utilizes a trauma-informed integrative counselling approach that is rooted primarily in person-centered, cognitive behavioural, strengths-based, solution-focused and mindfulness techniques. Beyond the technical approaches, she believes deeply in the power of one’s personal strength and resilience to create positive change. Carole consults for two non-profit organizations close to her heart: the Canucks Autism Network where she supports parents and caregivers of children and youth with autism, and Citizens’ Counselling where she has the honour to support adults from all walks of life. She strongly believes in community and warm human relationships, especially in hard times when we might tend to isolate ourselves. Carole is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. She is also registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychology Association (CCC). Additionally, she is a certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and has also completed CBT training, Mindfulness training and Gottman’s Couple Therapy training.
